DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Metro Lafayette, a vibrant Californian gem nestled in the heart of Lafayette, CA. Located at 3524 Mount Diablo Blvd, this restaurant artfully blends a welcoming atmosphere with an impressive menu that celebrates fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a romantic date night, Metro Lafayette has something for everyone.

The buzz surrounding this eatery is not merely due to its appealing ambiance; it’s the extraordinary food that consistently leaves diners raving. For instance, customer Nathaniel Plain describes the Pork Loin Schnitzel as "perfectly pounded, breaded and balanced," highlighting the delightful brightness brought by lemon and butter in every bite. This multi-layered experience is what sets Metro apart—each dish is crafted with care, ensuring that freshness and flavor never falter.

For those who enjoy dining al fresco, Andrew Fogel emphasizes the great patio vibe, reflecting an enjoyable atmosphere that complements the culinary delights indoors. While he found the Tuna Poke slightly questionable, the overall dining experience shone through with the attentive service from the staff and the manager’s personable approach.

Metro Lafayette excels not only in mains but also in dreamy desserts. As Jill Heller puts it, the dessert options, including the Chocolate Terrine and Lemon Pudding Cake, are a worthy finish to a memorable meal. Her praise for the Coq Au Vin as "fork-drop FANTASTIC!" further solidifies the restaurant’s commitment to excellence.

Unique dishes, such as Petrole Sole, are also featured, as noted by Julian Foster, who experienced food that tasted as though his mother made it. His surprise at the beauty and authenticity of the cuisine speaks volumes about the chef's craftsmanship and depth of knowledge. The kind and helpful bartenders are an added bonus, making every visit feel special.

With sentiments echoed by many, Metro Lafayette emerges as a must-visit spot in an otherwise quiet culinary landscape of Lamorinda. Karenand3 aptly points out that the restaurant serves as her go-to for impressing out-of-town foodies, thanks to its rotating menu filled with delightful options for appetizers and desserts. The indoor, outdoor, and atrium settings provide versatility for any occasion.

In summary, Metro Lafayette offers a compelling culinary experience that you shouldn’t miss. Join the local community in celebrating fresh Californian fare, crafted with passion and served in an inviting environment that will keep you coming back for more.

I highly recommend Metro. Excellent fresh food that will not disappoint. In today's visit I had the Pork Loin Schnitzel, a Chimay Triple White (on tap) and Kentucky Sugarwood cocktail. Everything was absolutely on point, with the schnitzel being perfectly pounded, breaded and with just the right amount of butter and lemon to make every bite bright and balanced. The Chimay is great off the tap with a head that stays all the way to the last drop and the Kentucky Sugarwood went down smooth but not without tasting of bourbon.

I love sitting out in the patio, the vibe and atmosphere is great. The food is also fantastic. Tuna poke was questionable though, other than that amazing. Service is above average and the manager/ owner walks around and takes care of you

What an amazing place for a date night out! We had the Coq Au Vin and the Steak Frites. The Coq Au Vin was fork-drop FANTASTIC! Everything that Lauren recommend was spot on. Dessert was amazing too: Chocolate Terrine for my love and the lemon pudding cake for me. Great on both counts! We’ll be back again soon.

I left the house for Chipotle, only to find that it closed early for some reason. I was still starving so I looked across the parking lot and saw a strange building with liquor bottles in the window. The fromt facade looked like a department store for something like hardware, but once inside I was in awe at how beautiful the space was. The bartender answered my dumb questions about what the food because I was unaware of the local fish, but he was very kind and polite and knowledgeable about the menu. I later overheard him mention that this evening was his first night as bartending, which was unbelieveable because of his knowledge and passion for the menu. Now, the food. As you can see from my pictures, I was blessed with a proper meal. I had the Petrole Sole with brussel sprouts and I thought my mother had cooked the food because it was so amazing and authetic. I had no clue what petrole sole was, but the waiter explainef it so eloquently that i had to try it. Boy was I blessed that evening. While i watched LeBron James destroy the TrailBlazers last night, I ate Metros amazing food. Please give this place a try.

As I always say, Lamorinda is a food desert. However. Metro is my go to place when my foodies friends from out of town visit. The place has indoor, outdoor, as well as an atrium setting. I've tried almost everything on the rotating menu as well as all appetizers and desserts, and I love everything.
